Jerome, published in England in 1889, is a humorous account a two-week boat trip on the Thames from Kingston to Oxford and back. The book was intended to be a travel guide, with local stories along the way. Following the success of Three Men in a Boat, Jérôme published a sequel, on a bicycle tour in Germany, entitled Three Men on the Bummel (Three Men on Wheels, 1900). This work has been adapted for film and television. Jerome K. Jerome (born Jerome Clapp / Klapka Jerome), May 2, 1859 - June 14, 1927, was an English writer, humorist, author, playwright, editor, best known for the comic travelogue Three Men in a Boat (1889). He died aged 68
